The film series is based on a legend that Nezha fought a dragon in the sea when he was a child. Initially Nezha suffers discrimination, rejection, ridicule and hostility from the people of Chentangguan as a child because of his magic pills, but as the story progresses Nezha is gradually recognized by the people and grows up in the struggle with his old enemy, Dragon Prince, to fight against the disaster together.
